Students intending to apply for a VET FEE HELP loan:
Legislative changes to VET FEE HELP introduced 1 January 2016 have changed entry requirements to Diploma level and higher courses.
As part of the student entry procedure if you intend to enrol in a VET Diploma or VET Advanced Diploma you will need to give to us a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (Year 12 Certificate).
If you don't have a Year 12 Certificate you must be assessed as displaying a required level of competence in both reading and numeracy. To do this we require you to sit a supervised test to see if you have the skills to entry into the Diploma level and above.
If you don't attain an 'Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF)' in both reading and numeracy you will not be able to apply for a VET FEE HELP loan.
We will work with any prospective student that does not attain the minimum 'Exit Level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF)'. This will involve a case manager working closely with each individual to consider a lower level certificate course in your preferred training pathway and assisted numeracy and literacy support.
