The South West Institute of Technology (SWIT) facilities can be hired by organisations to run workshops, seminars, computing courses, private functions and events, subject to these activities not impacting on the key delivery and student activities of the Institute. SWIT facilities cannot be hired to conduct any activities judged to be illegal, inappropriate for a Institute venue, or conflicting with the Institute’s mission, goals or values, or likely to bring the Institute’s name into disrepute.
The SWIT supports the utilisation of its facilities at an optimal level and as such, permits external organisations to hire the Institute’s classrooms on a fee-for-service basis, subject to such usage not impacting on the teaching and student activities of the Institute.
Suitable organisations for the Institute’s venue hire are government organisations, a registered business or a registered charitable organisation. Community organisation requests for use of facilities would be considered on the basis of merit, with the Institute Executive making the final decision.
