If an item is not available at the SWIT library, you may request an interlibrary loan from another library providing it is course related.  Items obtained through the TAFE library network are available free of charge however items obtained through our other reciprocal borrowing arrangements may have a fee attached.  Please ask at the circulation desk for further information.

Information and Research Services

The Library staff can assist academic staff to identify and retrieve relevant and up-to-date information sources to support their teaching and learning needs.  The Librarian will provide research services for all College staff for work related purposes.

Requesting Resources

The Librarian is responsible for the selection and acquisition of appropriate resources for the Library collections.  Library staff will liaise with program areas to build a collection based on the College’s teaching and learning needs.  To this end you may receive publisher brochures and catalogues from the Librarian to keep you informed of the latest information being published.  We welcome and encourage lecturers to provide recommendations for items to be purchased.

Please complete a Library Request to Purchase form .

It is College policy that all resources purchased with departmental funds for location and use in departments, must be sent to the Library for cataloguing and addition to the online catalogue.  This process prevents the unnecessary duplication of resources, facilitates resource sharing and assists proper resource management.
