Allan Anthony
Having started out as a truck driver, Allan never relinquished his dream of becoming an electrician and when the opportunity presented itself for him to take up an apprenticeship as a mature aged student, Allan jumped at the chance.
The combination of having to use his analytical ability and manual skills ensured that he enjoyed his training particularly with respect to circuitry development and design. “The lecturers were very helpful and supportive and through them, together with the on-the job training I was able to gain the knowledge to do my job.”
Allan’s future plans include furthering his training in instrumentation and refrigeration.

Jason Duffy
Winner of the Student of the Year Award, Jason Duffy thrives on the challenge of designing innovative and environmentally sustainable residential and commercial buildings and is driven by personal determination and a passion to succeed in his career as a building designer. Having recently graduated from the South West Regional College of TAFE where he completed his Certificate IV in Residential Drafting and the Diploma of Building Design and Technology, Jason Duffy is delighted at winning the Student of the Year Award “Being recognised and nominated for this award is probably more rewarding than completing the qualification itself,” he said.

The lecturers shared an exceptional amount of very current professional knowledge and have given me the confidence to apply the highly relevant skills I’ve gained.”
Having competed for many years on the professional surfing circuit Jason is no stranger to setting goals and achieving them.
His future plans include finalising the design of his own solar passive home and ultimately establishing his own design practice.
