Selecting a career or course of study can sometimes prove to be more complex than first imagined. The current demand for skilled employees in a broad range of industries, the changes in people’s employment arrangements over a lifetime and the growth in knowledge based jobs for newly emerging industries and occupations can add to the difficulty in making this very important choice.
Parents, teachers and school students are all, to a greater or lesser degree, involved in the process of subject, course and ultimately career selection. This section of the website outlines some of the services that we provide to assist school leavers faced with the decisions about their future training and the facilities available at our Institute.
The intrinsic value of Institute qualifications as well as the possibility of using this training as a pathway to university underscores the merits of considering this as a viable starting point for vocational and trade training. To assist teachers in promoting these options to school students and facilitate accessibility to the Institute we have outlined the role of our Course Information Service in hosting campus tours, providing course information, offering assistance with preparing and processing applications for full time study and assisting our graduates in job search, preparation for interviews and career development when their training is completed.
In adding value to the training experience through these additional services, the Institute is able to assist in the development of skilled employees who are prepared for all aspects of the contemporary work environment.
