Duty of Care

All employees have a duty of care to and for themselves/ourselves and for all other people. Interestingly, our duty of care responsibility covers what we do and what we omit to do. The scope of responsibility is “reasonable care”:

a. To ensure his or her own safety and health at work; and
b. To avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person through any act or omission at work.

By law any person under the age of 18 year is defined as a minor. An expected increase in the number of younger students who will enrol in the College has highlighted the value of: (1) increasing our understanding of our duty of care responsibilities; (2) developing our skills to carry out our duty; and (3) helping others to acquire the required knowledge and skills.
